The Retain Last Publish Time feature allows editors to retain the story’s previous publish time when making updates and republishing the story.

This is useful when a story needs to be updated without changing the original publish time displayed for the story.
How it works
When Retain Last Publish Time is enabled:
- The story retains its existing publish time when it is updated and republished.
- Content changes can be published without changing the story’s original publish time.
- The previously recorded publish time remains unchanged.
When the option is disabled, republishing the story updates the publish time based on the new publishing action.
Example:
A story was originally published on August 20, 2026 at 10:30 AM.
If the story is updated and republished at 2:00 PM:
- Retain Last Publish Time enabled: The publish time remains 10:30 AM.
- Retain Last Publish Time disabled: The publish time is updated to 2:00 PM.
This feature can be useful when:
- Correcting or updating an already published story.
- Making editorial changes without changing the story's displayed publish time.
- Preserving the original publish time for previously published content.
| Important Note: The feature only affects the publish time when the story is republished. It does not prevent editors from updating or modifying the story content. |
