A Story Template in Quintype is a predefined structure that allows authors to create different types of stories consistently. Each template can be configured based on a specific use case, with the required fields and story structure.

Creating and using a Story Template involves two steps:

  1. Create the Story Template in Bold CMS
  2. Map the Story Template in Page Builder

Step 1: Create the Story Template in Bold CMS

First, create the Story Template in Bold CMS.

  • Go to Settings.
  • Under Settings, select Configure.
  • Click Story Templates.
  • Click New Template.
  • Enter a name for the Story Template.
  1. Add and configure the required fields for the template, such as:
    • Title
    • Subtitle
    • Tags
    • Authors
    • Other fields required for the specific story type

  • Review the configured fields and click Add New.

The Story Template is now created in Bold CMS.

Step 2: Map the Story Template in Page Builder

Once the Story Template is created in Bold CMS, map it to a Story Page in Page Builder.

  • Go to Page Builder.
  • Navigate to the Story Page.
  • Click Create New Story.

  • From the dropdown, select the Story Template you created in Bold CMS.

  • Select the Story Type for the template.
  • Select the Layout you want to use for the Story Page.

  • Review the configuration and click Publish to save the changes.

The Story Template is now successfully created in Bold CMS and mapped to Page Builder.

Once the configuration is complete, authors can use the newly created Story Template to create stories with the predefined structure and fields. This helps maintain consistency across different story types and makes the content creation process easier and more efficient.
